Breck in March
March at Breck is a mix of winter and spring. It's still one of the snowiest months, with town averaging nearly 28 inches, but the sun is higher and the afternoons are warmer. Powder in the morning and a sunny deck in the afternoon is a very good day.
It's also spring break season, and college and school groups keep the mountain busy for most of the month.

Weather
Highs around freezing in town.
Average highs in town are around 32 °F. Sunny afternoons soften the south-facing runs, and they freeze hard again overnight. Ski the groomers in the morning and the soft snow after lunch.
Crowds
Busy most of the month.
Spring break weeks vary by school, so March stays busy for longer than any single holiday. Weekdays are still better than weekends.
Our tip
The sun is strong at 12,000 feet.
The sun is much stronger at altitude, and it reflects off the snow. Wear sunscreen and goggles even on cloudy days.
