Breck opens on November 6, 2026, and November is the month the mountain wakes up. Early on, you ski what snowmaking can cover, usually a few runs on the lower mountain, with more opening as the storms come in. The high bowls and Peak 6 usually wait until there's enough natural snow.
It's cheap and quiet for most of the month, until Thanksgiving week, when it isn't.

Opening day has a party atmosphere, a few trails open and a lot of locals who've waited all summer. Epic Mountain Express switches to its winter schedule on November 15.

Good for passholders and anyone happy to ski a few groomers. If it's your first time at Breck, come later, when the whole mountain is open.

Keep exploring
Book online before you arrive and pick your gear up in town the evening before. The morning rush at the base shops can eat your first hour, and booking ahead can be cheaper.
Breck is on the Epic Pass. Buying a ticket at the window on the day is the most expensive way up the hill, so buy ahead online or look at an Epic Day Pass if you're here for a few days.
