About this webcam
Breckenridge snow stake webcam
This is the camera behind the official numbers. The resort measures new snow against this stake, mid-mountain on Peak 8 at 11,237 feet, and the camera takes a fresh picture every five minutes.
The ruler is marked in inches. Read how high the snow sits against it, and compare with earlier in the day to see how much has fallen.

What this webcam can tell you
- Overnight snow, early. Check it before the morning report is published and you'll know whether it's a powder day.
- Whether it's still snowing. Flakes in the frame, or snow building on the trees, means more is coming down.
- Wind. Snow blown off the board or stacked on one side of the ruler suggests a windy night up high.
How to use it
Look at the ruler, not the trees: snow on branches can make it look deeper than it is. Then compare with the snow report page, which has the National Weather Service forecast for the next 72 hours and measured snow depth from nearby SNOTEL stations.
At night the image goes dark, apart from the lights on the stake. Check back after sunrise for a clear view.

Ski & snowboard rental
Book online before you arrive and pick your gear up in town the evening before. The morning rush at the base shops can eat your first hour, and booking ahead can be cheaper.
Lift tickets & the Epic Pass
Breck is on the Epic Pass. Buying a ticket at the window on the day is the most expensive way up the hill, so buy ahead online or look at an Epic Day Pass if you're here for a few days.
