From town to the slopes

The basics

The BreckConnect Gondola links the town of Breckenridge with the ski area. It runs from the gondola lots on the north side of town, with stops at Shock Hill and Peak 7, and finishes at the Peak 8 base. It's free to ride.

For a lot of visitors it's the easiest way onto the mountain: park in town or take the bus, then ride the gondola straight to the Peak 7 or Peak 8 lifts. The whole ride takes about 8–10 minutes.

Coming down, it's also the easy way back to town at the end of the day if you don't want to ski Four O'Clock.

Tips

  • The busiest time is roughly 8:45 to 9:45am. Going at 8:30 when it opens beats the rush.
  • At the end of the day, the line to ride down from Peak 8 builds after 3:30pm.
  • Get off at Peak 7 for the Independence SuperChair, or stay on to Peak 8 for the Colorado SuperChair and ski school.
  • Parking near the gondola is limited and changes by season. Check the resort's parking info, or take a Free Ride bus to the gondola.

Quick tip

Ski & snowboard rental

Book online before you arrive and pick your gear up in town the evening before. The morning rush at the base shops can eat your first hour, and booking ahead can be cheaper.

Quick tip

Lift tickets & the Epic Pass

Breck is on the Epic Pass. Buying a ticket at the window on the day is the most expensive way up the hill, so buy ahead online or look at an Epic Day Pass if you're here for a few days.
