About this lift

The Rip’s Ride

Rip's Ride is the beginner chair at the Peak 8 base. It's a slow, fixed-grip quad with just 306 feet of vertical, so it's an easy first chairlift. It runs from the learning area, next to Trygve's Platter and the carpets.

Dyersville and Trygve's are the gentle greens you'll ski back down, and Dragon Trail is a kids' adventure trail through the trees.

Tips

  • It’s slow on purpose. That makes getting on and off much easier for first-timers.
  • When you’re comfortable here, move up to the Five SuperChair.
Quick tip

Ski & snowboard rental

Book online before you arrive and pick your gear up in town the evening before. The morning rush at the base shops can eat your first hour, and booking ahead can be cheaper.

Quick tip

Lift tickets & the Epic Pass

Breck is on the Epic Pass. Buying a ticket at the window on the day is the most expensive way up the hill, so buy ahead online or look at an Epic Day Pass if you're here for a few days.
