Breckenridge weather
The 7-day Breckenridge weather forecast at three elevations, from town to the top of the lifts, straight from the National Weather Service.

NWS forecast updated … · Hourly & detailsWhy three forecasts?
Breckenridge runs from about 9,600 feet in town to 12,840 feet at the top of the Imperial SuperChair. Air cools as you climb, roughly 3 to 5 degrees for every 1,000 feet, so a pleasant 30 degrees on Main Street can be in the teens at the top before you add wind chill.
Wind is the other big one. The town forecast can say "light winds" on the same day the ridgelines are getting hammered. If the upper-mountain forecast shows strong wind, expect holds on the highest lifts.
Dressing for Breck
- Layers beat one big jacket. Mornings are cold and the sun is strong by lunch.
- Cover your face and neck on windy days above treeline. Frostbite happens faster than you think.
- Wear sunscreen and goggles or sunglasses, even when it's cloudy. There's a lot less atmosphere between you and the sun up here.
- Drink water. Dry air and altitude dehydrate you quickly.
Ski & snowboard rental
Book online before you arrive and pick your gear up in town the evening before. The morning rush at the base shops can eat your first hour, and booking ahead can be cheaper.
Lift tickets & the Epic Pass
Breck is on the Epic Pass. Buying a ticket at the window on the day is the most expensive way up the hill, so buy ahead online or look at an Epic Day Pass if you're here for a few days.
